Historic Site No.11

Seoul Pungnap Earthen Fortress

Earthen fortress near Hangang (river) at Pungnap-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul. Of the original length of the fortress of 3,500 meters, some 2,250 meter remains. Corner stone, clay pots, bricks, roof tiles, accessaries, and Chinese porcelains were excavated.

Seoul Mongchon Earthen Fortress

Earthen fortress on the southern bank of Seongnaecheon stream at Bangi-dong, Songpa-gu. Length of fortress is 2,285m. To the northeastern part stands a 270-meter long outer fortress. Traces of wooden fences remain on the northern and western side.

Historic Site No.243

Seoul Seokchon-dong Ancient Tombs

A burial site of the ruling class during the high time of Hanseong Baekje period. Located on 20-meters above the sea level, some 80 tombs remained until the Japanese colonial period (1910-1945). Diverse tomb styles can be found.

Historic Site No.270

Seoul Bangi-dong Ancient Tombs

A group of tombs in Bangi-dong, Songpa-gu. Located at 30-50 meters sea level. Four are on eastern slope and four on western slope. Earthenware artifacts in Silla tradition were found inside the tombs. However, some view the tombs to be from Baekje era.

Seoul Amsa-dong Remains

Remains of settlement in neolethic period at Amsa-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul. Houses built on sand ground were circular, built of mud and wood with overhanging thatched roofs. At the center was a fireplace and the opening usually facing south.

Historic Site No. 455

Boru-gun in Acha Mountain Area

A group of ramparts and fortifications near the peak of Mt.Acha and Mt. Yongma. Sixteen of them have been surveyed. The internal size varies from 500㎡ to more than 4,000㎡. Many artifacts from Goguryo period (37 BCE-668 CE) were excavated.


Historic Site No. 234

Acha Mountain Fortress

Stone fortress on Mt. Acha at Gwangjang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Located on the northern side of Hangang(river), the fortress offers a good wide view of vast areas of Songpa and Gangdong.
Length of fortress is 1,038m and many relics of Unified Silla period were excavated.
